UPI: Death Valley National Park celebrates 30th anniversary
Death Valley National Park, situated along the California-Nevada border, east of the Sierra Nevada, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. President Bill Clinton, in 1994, signed the California Desert Protection Act, which established the Death Valley and Joshua Tree national parks.

For powersports fans, Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes is the mecca of off-roading in the Southwest. Located two and a half hours east of San Diego, this is the largest dune complex in California and one of the most sprawling in the country.
